Get Meaningful

Lesson 7 - by K - Be My Valentine!

So I'm totally a dork and I love Valentine's Day; and yeah, I do have it good in the relationship department; but that is not why I love V-day. It is one of the only days out of the year that you really can tell everyone that you love; that you love them! and so, in honor of Valentine's Day, we're going to scrap about a person that we love, not necessarily in the romantic way, or even necessarily in the "I would do anything for them" way.  

One rule--this person is not to be our significant other or someone in our immediate family. The reason we're skipping them is because we can always spout out generic reasons they are meaningful to us.  The point of this lesson is to go beyond that and really figure out why this person is meaningful to you (which will help you scrap your family later on).  This can be a best friend; and perhaps you have one special memory of why you value the relationship you have with them; maybe its a teacher/mentor/cleric and the reason that they are so meaningful to you is because they set you down your career path; or helped you out of a tough time.

Lesson 6 - by K - Favorite...

I am so excited about this first in a series of 4 lessons by our K!  K has a unique perspective on things, so I think you are going to enjoy these lessons!  And Mara has generously offered to do the prize pack for this months Player of the Month!  So be sure to play along!

Pick out your favorite movie, book, character, song, quote, art work---anything that was created by someone else, and explain why it is so important to you. Explain why this particular work speaks to you. More often than not we answer these questions with superficial answers such as, "well I can listen to it over and over again" or "it's just really pretty or fun to watch".  What we're looking for today is to dig a little bit deeper into what has created this bond for you? Here are a couple questions to get you started on looking for that bond.

When was the first time you read/heard/watched it?

Are there people that you like to share it with?

Is there a special memory associated with it?

What feelings does it invoke for you?

What do you think draws you back to it?
